Finance & Control International to me was an intense and broad study, but worth the investment!

Reybot Etchi works as a Finance Manager at CBRE GWS Integrated Facility Management. He is an alumni of Finance & Control International at Avans Hogeschool.

Working as a Finance Manager

“In my job, I report to the Regional Finance Director on a monthly basis, including month-end closing, year-end closing, Flash Report, P&L and Balance Sheets commentary. Other tasks include budgeting and forecasting and revamping and enhancing workflow and processes to increase efficiency.”

Finance & Control International as a strong base

“The programme Finance & Control International helped me to be able to read and analyse financial statements which is crucial to unlocking insights about an organisation financial performance. These statements provide a holistic view of the company  financial health and it can be utilised to learn from previous pitfalls and successes as one strategize for the future.”

Reybot’s tips for future students

“Of course I have some tips I want to share from my own experience. Master your technical skills: develop a strong foundation in financial analysis, modelling and proficiency in relevant tools such as Excel. But also make sure to make use of the internship experience! Gain practical experience through internships to apply theoretical knowledge, demonstrate your abilities and build a track record. Lastly, I would say specialise strategically: identify niche areas within finance where you can specialise.”

“In all, I can say Finance & Control International was an intense and broad study, but worth the investment!”
